Outdoor Education and Leadership Specialization

The Outdoor Education and Leadership specialization is designed to prepare students in Environmental Studies to become professional, informed, and skilled leaders in outdoor education or recreation fields or apply skills of outdoor leadership, risk management, and education to careers in Environmental Studies. The specialization is specifically focused on the theoretical, practical, and pedagogical skills necessary to work in instructional and educational outdoor fields.

Join the College's Outdoor Program as we partner with the Wilderness Medicine Training Center for a hybrid-Wilderness First Responder course. The course follows the industry standard for wilderness medical training and is designed specifically to provide you with the tools to make critical emergency care and evacuation decisions in remote locations. The course is open to students and non-students at the College. Students will receive 2 credits upon completion of the course.
